Convert Emails to RSS Feeds with Email2RSS

Posted: 08 Jun 2012 11:00 AM PDT

Email2Rss combines email marketing and RSS feed creation into one powerful tool which you can use in order to reach your customers and readers more easily. With this software you can convert your emails into RSS feeds which can then be sent to your RSS readers. RSS has many advantages over email, which a lot people who are working in the email marketing field are probably aware of, but for those who aren’t, we’re of course talking about the fact that a lot of emails which are sent end up as spam.

Advanced Email Rss default

This is the main interface of Email2Rss, note that this is the Personal version of this RSS converter, which has limitations. Some of the features which the free version of Email2Rss doesn’t have would be:

  • Email filtering rules, to choose automatically which emails will be converted
  • Automatic uploads to web server
  • Update scheduling
  • Minimize to tray
  • Running the program as a windows service

Even without these options Email2RSS Personal has a lot to offer, especially to those who are not very demanding. Once you get a hang of how the program works you can start considering about investing in one of the two paid versions of this application which offer all of the above options, plus a lot more, check the developer website for more info. Using the program is also not every complicated, once you open it up, click on New which will start up a wizard that will help with the basic config.

Configuring Email2Rss Personal

So, after clicking on New, which is located on the top left corner of the window, you will be presented with the following screen:

Advanced Email Rss wizad first step

Four steps are all it takes for you to have your first task up and running. With tasks you can setup email accounts which will be monitored and emails which are received to that account will automatically be converted to a RSS feed and passed on. First step would be:

Advanced Email Rss wizad second

To configure basic information about your feed, name, description, URLs and so on. After that you’re gonna have to setup the email account from where emails will be taken for the conversion to RSS:

Advanced Email Rss wizad third

An additional setup in this step would be to select from where the title, author and other information of individual messages within the feed will be taken, from email subject, body, sender’s email and so on.

FTP option was skipped, because we are using the free version of Email2Rss, which doesn’t allow it, so all that’s left is the last step.

Advanced Email Rss wizad last

Here we are offered with some additional options for the creation of our RSS feed. This is not something terribly important, it’s just some additional info about the feed and the feed owner. Filling this up makes your feed look a little bit more serious.

That’s the last step, and when you click Finish, a task will appear in the list, click the Start button and program will check the email account, convert emails to RSS feed files which can then be uploaded online, very simple and hassle free. Don’t forget about the paid version of Email2RSS if you need more automatization.

Free Stock Tracking Software to Track Stock Market from Desktop: TraderClock

Posted: 08 Jun 2012 06:50 AM PDT

TraderClock is a clock which every stock market trader should have installed on their computer. This clock not only does it display the current status of larger stock markets from all over the world, but it also shows what their current status is, open/closed, and how many points a certain stock has.

TraderClock default

The clock itself has a very slick design and it will fit in nicely with the Windows 7 theme. What you see on the image above is the default style that TraderClock has, it comes with another dark style, if you are not fond of the white theme. Changing the styles is not the only thing which this clock has, there are a lot of other options which it has to offer, so let’s have a look at how we can configure TraderClock to better suit our needs.

Also check out Android stock market apps.

Basic configuration of TraderClock

Something that needs to be mentioned, before we start with the configuration talk are handy little warnings which will greet you when you first start TraderClock.

TradeClock open markets

These are warnings which are notifying the user about stock markets being opened. You can configure these types of notifications by right clicking on the clock and selecting Settings, after doing that you will be presented with the following window:

TraderClock settings

Options which we were talking about just a few moments ago, market open and close notifications are located just above the size of the clock. Changing the size of the clock is necessary because the default size of 320X320 might be a little bit too big for majority of screens, unless you have large monitors. Other settings that can be found here would be the language, show/hide second hand on the clock, and last, but not least would be the hourly chime options which will notify you each time an hour passes.

You can also check out We Seed, to learn how to trade in stock market.

The second tab in the Settings menu can be used in order to determine which stock markets are being followed.

TradeClock stock markets

Program supports a lot of stock markets from all over the world, and the ones that you choose will be shown on the clock. Notice the green and white semi-rings around the clock on the first image above. Those are various stock markets which are being followed, and the ones which are currently opened are showed in green.

The Ref stock columns in this settings window can be used to determine which stocks on a given market you want to keep track of, this is what makes this little clock even more amazing. Simply write in these fields the market marking for the stock which you are keeping an eye on and when you hover over the clock, over the ring of that stock market a small pop up will appear with information about these three stocks that you’ve set to monitor.

Conclusion

TraderClock is a nice little plugin for your Windows desktop, and if you are stock market trader you can use it to add a bit of zest to your screen. It’s not too much of a burden on your computer resources, and you can use it even on older machines. Change the theme to suite your style and enjoy.
