ZSNES is a free Super Nintendo emulator software for x86 computers. Emulator is a software which is designed to create a virtual environment for a program for its running; on the host computer. ZSNES emulator software can be executed on Windows, MS-DOS and Linux operating systems.

Features of This Emulator Software:

Ability to support software versions which required the support of Windows systems released earlier.
It doesn’t take up much space.
The emulator software is very basic in nature, interface is designed beautifully.
You get to play your old games, which may not be playable on the PC's with newer operating systems.

Interface And Working Of This Emulator Software:

The interface is the simplest you can get from any software! ZSNES has a basic look in its appearance. It will give you a feel of going back in time to use the Windows 95/98 software.

The first tab of Game is used to Load a game and Save a State, Pick a State or Open a State. With the Config tab, you can configure your CPU parameters. Speed, Audio-Video settings, Destination Paths, Chip's; everything can be controlled from here. With the special feature called Cheat, you can browse and search the existing Cheat Code book; while the option of adding your own Cheats exists too! Netplay is concerned with Internet connectivity. GUI options and the Key configuration can be edited with this tab.

Downloading and Installation Of This Emulator Software:

I downloaded this emulator software from a software sharing portal and it got saved as a zip file. After opening it, there were only documentation files and a few source code files stored in C and CPP formats. There was no executable file present and I had to search all over the internet, for installing the software!

I finally downloaded this emulator software from another website and it got downloaded as an executable setup file, much to my relief! I installed it quickly and it hardly took any time to get launched.

Final Verdict:

ZSNES is very basic in its operational objective and proves to be a utility only to those who want to bring the days of Prince of Persia and Alladin back! I enjoyed the experience of playing Prince of Persia on the emulator software, as its very simple to operate.

It may prove difficult to obtain the Game CD's of these software but if you do have them it's worth giving a try to this Software.

Firemin is a free application designed to eliminate memory leaks on Mozilla Firefox browsers. The program comes with a memory management engine applied to both the browser and its extensions to ensure that memory leaks are eliminated.

Mozilla Firefox has for a very long time been plagued by memory leaks which are quite evident when the program is left to run for long. Running Firefox continuously for a period of about a few days causes the browser to consume about 600MB of memory which increases with longer the program is left to run. For a browser, this is too much and is a clear indication of memory leaks. Firemin simply eliminates these memory leaks.

How to use it

This memory management app for Firefox requires no installation, all you need to do is unzip the program files into a directory of your choice and run the program from there. Optimizing your browser memory management is very easy, right click on the tray icon and select Optimize Firefox. A dialog box with a progress bar opens and takes you through the optimization process.

Program settings can be accessed by clicking Options. From here you can set Firefox to open in either normal or safe mode when Firemin is launched. You can also set the intensity of optimization using the provided slider. If optimization is done very fast , Firefox uses less memory but more processing power is needed and vice versa. It is therefore recommended that you strike a balance between memory usage and processing power needed.

The tray icons can also be used to launch Firefox in both normal and safe modes by selecting the respective menus. Product information is also accessed via the tray icon. To check for program updates, select the Update Firemin menu. The memory management Firemin can be fully exit by clicking Exit in the tray icon.

Verdict

Firemin is a simple effective tool to eliminate memory hogging in Firefox. It does what Mozilla developers have been unable to do for quite sometime now.

Wings 3D is a free and open source 3D modeling software, which comes with a lot of interesting tools to make creation of 3D models easier for the user. Drawing your very own 3D models is made simpler by the fact that the program comes with tridimensional shapes preinstalled, which can at first be used to learn how 3D modeling in Wings 3D works, and then later on you can use these shapes as base and simply edit them to your liking when you are making 3D sketchings of your own.

Interface of Wings 3D might seem a little bit archaic, it probably has something to do with the fact that it was written in Erlang which is an open source programming language from Ericsson. For the purpose of this demonstration we’re gonna place a cube on our workspace or polygon call it what you want.

After we’ve added the cube, at the top of the screen where the arrow is pointing on the image above we’re gonna select the icon which has corners marked red. That will select all 4 corners of the object, you can select them individually also, as long as the corners select option is marked.

Right click will show us the menu that you see on the left side of the screen, from there you need to select Extrude option, which is used to extrude, to make something pop out. With the Extrude option selected, move your mouse and shape of the cube should be manipulated.

Here, are 10 free Windows Live Writer plugins. We will discuss about Windows Live Writer plugins which include find and replace plugin which enables an intelligent find and replace option, Picasa and Flickr plugins to insert images directly from web, insert code, insert Wikipedia link, and much more.

Windows Live Writer is my favorite blogging client. I use it to write all my blog posts. Even though it is quite feature rich, it seems to sometimes fall short on features. But the best thing is Microsoft has provided a feature to add plugins to Windows Live Writer. Here are some of my favorite plugins for Windows Live Writer. Just add these plugins, and greatly enhance the features of Windows Live Writer.

Before we proceed further, let me quickly explain how to install and uninstall WLW plugins.

How to Install and Unistall Plugins in Windows Live Writer:

Install:

Click on the plugin links below to get the download link for each plugin.
Download the setup for the plugin by clicking on download button on the webpage.
Double click on the setup file downloaded and follow further instructions to install the plugin on Windows Live Writer.
Restart Windows Live Writer and start using the plugin from the plugin list.

Uninstall:

Go to the Control Panel of your computer.
Click on “Uninstall a Program” option. You will see the list of installed programs on your computer.
Now check for the plugin installed in the list and right-click to uninstall the plugin.
Restart Windows Live Writer and you will see the plugin has been uninstalled.

Note: If you want to access plugins, then you have to go to “Insert” menu and then access installed plugins in Windows Live Writer.

Of course, the limitation is that you can insert only images from your own Picasa Web Albums, and not any publicly available images.

Flickr Plugin For Windows Live Writer:

Flickr Plugin is a free plugin for Windows Live Writer to insert Flickr images into Windows Live Writer. Just enter the username of your Flickr account or your Yahoo account and then insert the images directly from Flickr into Windows Live Writer.

Flickr plugin is the best way out to insert the image directly from Flickr to Windows Live Writer. To start with the plugin, you need to enter the username of Flickr and then click on search. The plugin will display all the images which you have uploaded on your Flickr account. Now select an image which you want to insert and you will see the image inserted in Windows Live Writer.

This plugin is a very useful tool for the bloggers who want to publish blog articles with an attachment while working on Windows Live Writer.

Remember: According to "Insert File(S) plugin developers, Windows Live Spaces, Live Journal, and Bloggers are not supported. This is only because of lack of support for uploading files with blog articles.

Insert Code For Windows Live Writer:

Polaroid Picture:

Polaroid Picture is a free plugin to insert Polaroid pictures in Windows Live Writer. Just select any picture from your computer's picture gallery, select the appropriate settings and insert Polaroid image in Windows Live Writer. Inserting pictures from Polaroid Picture plugin looks different and nice as compared to inserting the image by following normal procedure of Windows Live Writer i.e., insert→picture→from your computer.

Talk.to is a relatively new company which focuses on developing cheap ways of communication between people and bushinesses. Today we’re gonna have a look at their Talk.to application which allows its users to send instant messages for free across two most popular social services that have instant messaging, Facebook and Google Talk. Even though there already are several applications which allow you to communicate off-site with friends that you have on social networks, Talk.to is special because it can be used not only on PCs but also on your iOS and Android smartphones, which are becoming more and more popular these days.

What you see above is the default window of Talk.to, notice the word Beta in the windows title. That’s right, this software is still in beta, so be prepared for the application to misbehave from time to time. The interface is very intuitive, once you’ve added accounts from social networks to Talk.to your contacts should appear in the list and you can start sending messages to them via the messaging portion of the interface on the left.

Talk.to installation and prerequisites

Currently Talk.to is available as a standalone download from Windows in which the program comes bundled with Google’s Chrome, which has to be installed on a machine in order for Talk.to to work. This free instant messaging software needs Google Chrome because it uses its engine to access Facebook and Google Talk while the accounts are being added, but also for the purposes of the actual chat. If you already have Google Chrome, then there’s nothing for you to worry about. But if you don’t then you’re gonna have to install it, if you are a Windows user program offers you to install Chrome automatically.

Adding Facebook and Google Talk accounts

To start chatting and sending instant messages to your friends on Facebook and Google Talk you’re gonna have to give Talk.to access to your accounts. This is where privacy issues might become a problem to some, but this is a trusted application and there shouldn’t be any problems with account theft. Right after you first run the program you’ll be presented with a window where you can sign into your favorite networks:
