Free Internet Window Washer is a cleaning utility that you can use in order to remove tracking data with which we are usually infested when browsing or using our instant messaging clients. You can also delete unnecessary system and application files which can occupy precious disk space.

Cleaning the system from junk files is very easy with Free Internet Window Washer. Program has a very long name, but that’s OK because it also has a very long list of various places where it looks for clutter on Windows systems and removes it. Installation of the program went just fine, but after we started it for the first time a window popped up where we were asked to enter in registration info.

Don’t be startled by this, program is free, those who decide to register it will only be able to enjoy in the fact that they’ve helped out the Window Washer project, and allowed the developers to add new features, like the message says. If you’re not too keen on donating, you might be after you’ve tried the software and seen what it does, let’s show you some of the system cleanup options that you get with this handy little app.

What kind of files can Window Washer clean

Overview of files that will be deleted can be found by clicking on the Wash Settings button on the left side of the default window, look at the image above. This is where we have all the locations and all the applications who’s history, cache and other unnecessary files will be deleted.

Four main tabs on the upper part of the screen would be the 4 main categories that will be scanned for junk files and of course deleted afterwards. We have the:

Notice that long scrollbar on the right side, there’s really a lot of different applications who’s files can be inspected by Window Washer for any signs of old, unused and unnecessary files.

Conclusion

This program is definitely something that should be used from time to time. Unlike other similar software, Window Washer has a lot more cleaning options and it will definitely free up more space, especially if you have a lot of program installed on your system.

How to use it

The application requires no installation, just extract the contents of the zip file and run the executable. Interface is quite simple considering there are no dropdowns, menu, tabs and such. Everything is well packaged in a single compact interface.

Wallpaper categories are listed based on databases they are downloaded from. Choose wallpaper categories you want downloaded to your desktop by checking the respective checkboxes. You can view even more wallpaper categories and galleries by clicking Browse all galleries. The program maintains a list of random downloaded wallpapers which you can use as wallpapers by clicking on the Set as wallpaper button of the wallpaper. You can change categories of random wallpapers by clicking Browse all categories and if you don’t fancy the random wallpapers currently available, you can download new ones by clicking the Download list of next random wallpapers. You can select the frequency of downloading new wallpapers by checking the Download a new wallpaper every checkbox and selecting a suitable frequency.

Program settings are accessible via the Configuration button. You can set what type of wallpapers to download and which to leave out. By default the program is able to detect your screen resolution but if you wish to change it you can select the desired resolution from the five options available. Also you can choose the crop and aspect ratio of wallpapers downloaded to correctly fit your screen. Final Verdict

Quickmove is a good file moving software, but it has a limited appeal. Also, the downloadable version is a free version. The full version of the software is not free. The free version of the software is effective but has a limited scope. For those who want to move similar files extensions, Quickmove may be a good option.

Freegate is a proxy service that you can use in order to bypass filters and censorship, which are becoming more and more present on the Internet with each passing day. This proxy utility is very small and very simple to use, everything is practically automated and you can have a fully working proxy and protection that it offers in just a few clicks.

Internet censorship has been getting out of hand recently, even in the western world, but countries which are the worst when it comes to censorship would undoubtedly be China and some from Middle East. There people are not allowed access to harmless sites like Facebook, Twitter or MySpace, not to mention sites which are more important, like news sites where people can get the information about current events. In these types of situations Freegate can be very helpful and when you first start the program you’ll see that Freegate is aimed primarily at these countries.

Freegate configuration and use

This anonymizer doesn’t have to be installed, it runs right away after clicking the executable and after you run it for the first time you will see something like this:

Here you can see what I was talking about the fact that when Freegate was created China was in the minds of the program creators. In this window you can choose which websites can be accesed directly without the use of proxies and by default Chinese websites, which are accessible in China are marked for direct access. This has been done in order to improve the browsing speed on these websites, but also to decrease the load of Freegate proxy servers, since the websites are working just fine when accessed directly from China. What’s more important for Freegate configuration is the window that you get after clicking on OK.

When you’re done with that, open up some random website that you would normally be blocked to, and it should be working now. Freegate proxies are very fast, and you will not feel and kind of major difficulties with speed. Try Freegate if you’re having problems with filters and censorship.

Using this tool is very easy and simple to capture screenshots. Fortunately, they have only one control to take the screenshot and post it on their server. One important thing to note is if you want to capture screenshots of different folders you can use the "Alt + tab" keys to shuffle through the folders provided that they are already opened.

The only problem, which I find in this software, is that there is no way to delete the screenshot images which the users have taken. It can only be done using the premium account.

ImageSnatcher is a screenshot capturing software but has an added advantage of uploading them on the web at the same time.
