Weezo is a take on peer-to-peer network sharing, but without the risk of unwanted intrusion, like you have with eMule and Bittorrent.

Easy Download and Setup for file sharing

The Weezo download is relatively small at twenty-six megabytes, and they have a fast server. The download only takes a couple of minutes. The setup routine is easy and straightforward. Unlike some installers, this one allows you to determine whether you have desktop icons, quickstart icons, neither, or both. During the setup, you create and register an account with the Weezo servers. The centralized authentication feature makes it so that you don't have to send proposed users an SSL certificate or an encryption key.

Two Ways to Configure Your Connection

Weezo isn't terribly easy to configure once the program is installed and your account is created on the Weezo servers. You have two ways to configure the network. The first one is the easiest for those whose computers aren't behind a Network Address Translation router. This connection method is automatic if you aren't behind a router.

If you're behind a router, you're going to need a little bit of technical knowledge and most likely, the owner's manual for your router. You'll need to configure your router to forward traffic on a specific port (http:80), associated with a specific executable (the Weezo program) to your computer's unique IP address.

It's up to you. Some programs similar to this one have a cap on the size of files that can be sent over the network, but Weezo doesn't. This comes in handy if you have large files that you need to send and receive.

One of the cool features of Weezo is that you can remotely wake your computer from Sleep Mode and do things with it. As an example, you can check up on the babysitter and the kids by remotely turning on your computer's webcam.
