The app calculates the distance with the help of two estimator which includes estimating the distance with camera and estimating with GPS/Network. Re-tap on the screen to start the distance measurement again to measure the distance.

Estimate With GPS/Network:

Launch the app on your Android phone and select to measure the distance using GPS/Network.
Get the coordinates by taping on "Get Location A" button when you are at "A" location.
Then move and get coordinates of location B when you reach to that location.
Now tap on "Calculate Distance" button and the app will calculate the distance between the two locations.

Mentat is a all-in-one software package intended for teachers and professors, it can help out with preparations for classes, everything from laying out the contents of the lectures to determine what the test questions will be. Think of Mentat as the perfect teachers aid, which can help a lot in the organization of school courses, and best of all it’s free and cross platform.

Mentat is divided up into 4 separate applications, each one of which does everything that we’ve up until now said that Mentat can do. These 4 applications would be:

Course Editor
Question Editor
CheckBook
Results Viewer

What you see on the image above is the Course Editor, which is kinda of the most important part of the whole Mentat package. In the course editor you can work out the “battle plan” that you’ll carry out in the class room. When it comes to lecturing, preparation is almost as important as execution, Mentat can help you out in that department.

School course planning with the help of Mentat?

The first step in creating an entire school course with Mentat would be to start up the appropriate application, which would be the Course Editor. Start by entering a little bit information about the Course, see the image above on how you might do that, everything’s pretty straightforward.

The tab next to the Course description tab is the one that’s most interesting, Course contents. That’s where you actually put the pieces together and add all the necessary material for a particular course.

Determine which sections your course will have, they can be added by clicking on the plus sign at the bottom. Once that you add a new section on the right you will be able to start adding Section questions and Section materials. The type of materials that you can add are grouped up into the usual categories:

Notes from Lectures
Books
eBooks
URLs

After you’ve filled up the materials section, then you can determine what kind of questions this course will contain. Questions will have to be loaded up from a XML document, they cannot be edited directly inside the program, which is kind of a drawback. After you’re done with filling out the Sections and contents and questions for these sections your course is planned out, and all that’s left is to stick to it.

Questions in Mentat are created in the Question Editor, program comes with some examples, like I already said, the questions has to be written in the XML format:

Here we see an example question opened in the Preview tab, to edit it you need to open up the Edit tab. To create questions some basic knowledge of XML is needed, but everything is made easier by the fact that there are examples which you can open and easily learn from.

Are you addicted to Twitter and love posting tweets? But what if you are away from your computer or phone and cannot tweet? TwitaMatic is an answer to this problem. This free desktop application lets you schedule tweets so that you can stay active on your favorite social networking site even if you are offline and cannot access internet.

Getting started with TwitaMatic

Download and install the application from the website.
While installing the application, you need to make sure that you do not install Babylon toolbar. Uncheck the corresponding checkboxes to avoid installing it. Double click the TwitaMatic icon to launch the application.

When the application is launched, the above window is displayed. To get started, you need to click on 'Log In' button. This opens a webpage on your browser where you need to enter your twitter username and password. However, you need to authorize the application to use your account. As such it can do the following:

Read your tweets.
Check who you follow
Update your profile
Post tweets

However, the application does not have access to your direct messages or see your twitter password.

Once you authorize the application, you are given a pin which has to be entered in a window which is opened when you launch the application.

After you submit the valid pin, you can start scheduling your tweets.

Schedule tweets with TwitaMatic

As you can see in the above snapshot, the interface of this application is quite simple and easy to use. You can schedule a tweet by setting it's date and time under the Tweet details. The already scheduled tweets along with their date and time are already mentioned under Upcoming tweets. You can delete an already scheduled tweet. Once a tweet is posted, it disappears from under Upcoming tweets.

Limitation

One of the major caveats of using this application is that you can post only 1 tweet in an hour. There must be a time interval of at least 60 minutes between two upcoming tweets. Suppose you schedule a tweet after a time interval of less than 60 minutes, the following dialog box appears:

Verdict

Irrespective of the flaw that you can post a single tweet in an hour, this free application has a great utility. Imagine when you cannot access your phone or internet but it might be important to tweet. This application lets you do the same and schedule your tweets so that you do not have to personally log into your account and do so.

Social CRM is a customer relationship management software which combines social networking with customer relations. What makes Social CRM different is the addition of social network input box that you can see on the bottom left corner of the image above. Social networking and customer relations are something that goes hand in hand. How introduction of social networks into business can help companies is pretty obvious. Just by creating a fan page of your company and people liking it you get a lot more publicity, now think how much more services to the customers you can offer, if you add them as friends on social networks.

There’s probably no need to explain how to fill in all the input boxes that are shown on the image above. You’ll be of course using the actual data of your customers. Take note that even the Comments box on the right side of the program is part of the customer addition process and you should enter notes about the client there, things like, bought items, preferred products or services and so on. Once that you are done, click on the Add button, see below.

Doing that will add this specific customer to the list of customers and to access a certain client you’re gonna have to double click on their name on the list. Some might be lucky enough to have large database of customers, so there’s an option of searching through the customer database, you’re just gonna have to know the name of client that you’re trying to find, enter it in the Search field and results with the person that you’re looking for should pop up.

When you click on a given name that’s on your list of customers, information along side the social network account information should pop up, and you can easily use data from there, links to Facebook, Twitter, Linkedin and all the other social networks in order to see what kind of things your customers are interested in the most, visit their accounts and then create custom made offers which will be just in sync with the wishes and needs of the buyer.

All in all, Social CRM is a great tool, perhaps a bit simplistic and rudimentary, but there’s still room to grow, since this is the first version, maybe the developer manages to find time to add a bit more options, but even without that Social CRM can be very useful.

Cubiez allows you to install your favorite smartphone apps to your computer, so that you can enjoy them while being on the desktop and away from your smartphone. Apps installed on your PC will be installed from Cubiez’s own servers, and the application is free for the time that it’s in testing, so if you want to run mobile apps on your computer now’s your chance to do so.

After installing Cubiez the main application is gonna be added to the Windows taskbar, and when you right click on the icon, the app selection browser that you can see on the image above is gonna be activated. The apps offered by Cubiez are not called apps, they are called Cubiez, and for the time being this free smarpthone app desktop emulator only comes with 6 apps which you can see above. Installing the apps is actually very easy, and they too will work the same way that the main application works, completely integrated into the Windows taskbar.
