Lazar Lookup is a free Excel spreadsheet data finder and simple editor which you can use in order to locate data stored in large spreadsheets with specific structures. For Lazar Lookup to work, spreadsheet needs to have declared cell names right from the start of the spreadsheet which Lazar Lookup will pick up on and give you an easy way of how to find and edit data in Excel spreadsheets.

Default window that waits for you after opening Lazar Lookup can be seen on the image above. Here what we tried to explain to you in the introduction is explained a bit more with an image example. What this example tells us is that the first line of the spreadsheet document and the first column have to have names declared, which Lazar Lookup will then read and allow you to easily make searches of data stored within these fields.

What you see on the image above is an opened document within Lazar Lookup where you can see that names of the three columns shown on the image above in red have been detected by Lazar and three separate search boxes have been created for each one of the columns in the Lazar toolbar at the top. After entering search terms inside these boxes results will immediately pop up.

Make sure that you choose a search box which is named the same way that the column that you’re interested in searching is named. Program will read the spreadsheet and name each search box after the name of the column so you can more easily chose a search box. Notice on the image above we have boxes named:

Name
Contact
Location

And notice that there are cells with the same names located in the spreadsheet down below. If you had more columns a search box will be added for each one of the column names, where you can easily search through it. Drawback of Lazar is that if a spreadsheet doesn’t have first column and first row named then it will report errors when opening the document. Documents have to have this specific structure in order for Lazar Lookup to be able to open them and also only .XLS format is supported not, .XLSX, which is format used by newer versions of Office.

Conclusion

Lazar Lookup is great if you have or if you create spreadsheet structures which are supported. With it you can very easily find data hidden inside spreadsheet cells, and you can even perform some easy editing. Free download.

How to use it

Once installation is complete, CloudFogger creates the virtual drive known a drive x. Users are required to pair this drive with a folder of their choice but CloudFogger automatically links it to the Dropbox folder if it can find one. The application then requests for an account which you can do without. The benefit of having an account is that you can add CloudFogger IDs of people you wish to share the data with allowing them to easily access it. The single user option is for local encryption meaning that you cannot share files using this option.

CloudFogger launches during start up but is minimised to the tray when running. It can be accessed by right or left clicking the tray icon. For first time use, users are required to read a pdf file explaining more about CloudFogger. Files stored in the CloudFogger drive are automatically encrypted. Once you have unlocked your account, programs can access encrypted data without having to decrypt them and any new files are automatically encrypted. You can change account information and change preferences to your own via the Preferences menu. Encrypted files are stored using the .cfog extension.

Opinion

On the fly encryption and decryption makes your work very easy and saves time as you don’t have to manually decrypt data and encrypt it each time it changes. The software is particularly useful for people who need to share sensitive information online but may appear too far fetched for an ordinary user. The idea of a portable file format compatible with any installation is great. I never got to understand the lock and unlock account commands and the product offered very little explanation of this. Also the software lacks an offline support system and had to be online to use the Help Center which did not yield any answers. Although this Encryption Software can be used for all round encryption, it tends to be biased towards cloud service-the name seems to suggest the same.

Verdict

CloudFogger is a great tool for anyone wanting to secure and share data in a very simple way for free.

Free Desktop Launcher and Organizer for Windows 7: ViPad

ViPad is a free desktop launcher and organizer for Windows 7, which you can use to arrange application shortcuts into a neat transparent box and divide them into categories according to types, for example office tools, multimedia players, graphic editors and so on. That way instead of having icons lying around the desktop you can have them neatly organized into a very modern looking application launcher.

Note that in order to use ViPad you’re gonna have to have the advanced desktop effects that Windows 7 has activated, the so called Aero, if you don’t have the effects activated then ViPad will not look the way it’s supposed to, it won’t be transparent like it is on the image above. Some of the more interesting features found in ViPad would be:

Automatic launcher placement at first run
Tabs which can be used for different categories of applications
Adjustable icon size of the launchers within the tabs
Run ViPad with Windows either maximized or minimized to tray

Setting up ViPad isn’t very difficult, and you can organize your desktop very quickly. Application is very small, so if you are worrying that it’s gonna cost you a lot of system resources, don’t, because it won’t. We checked the memory usage and once that we setup the icons and several tabs, the application spent only around 20MB of RAM, which is quite low considering how much you get from this free Windows desktop organizer.

How to organize the Windows 7 desktop with ViPad

Like we already mentioned, if you don’t want to organize your icons manually into the ViPad box, you can use the automatic launcher importer which is gonna be offered to you when you open up ViPad for the first time. If you decide to use it, all the icons from your desktop are gonna be added automatically into the box, but the downside would be that they will not be arranged into tabs.

Adding desktop icons to the ViPad isn’t that difficult, all that you have to do is drag and drop them to the tab that you would like to see them in, and that’s it. However if you used the automatic importer and now all of your icons are in the first tab, right click on them and simply select a different tab from the ones that you have from the Move to list. Clicking on the plus sign at the top is gonna create new tabs. Right click on them and select Rename to change their names.

On the previous image you can see that ViPad isn’t transparent, that’s because we didn’t have the Aero effects activated. The image above is with Aero working and you can see this free desktop organizer and application launcher fully functional.

Maps:

There are many varieties of maps available. Every map is unique and good for battling. Just try them.

Check all the controls in the options menu. You can also get console commands in the options menu only. The controls are:

Left Control for walking slow; because normally you will be running around.
Space for jumping. Use this all the time; very helpful.
[WASD] for moving around.
Use numbers for swapping weapons.
[E] to pick up weapons and grenades.
[~] for console.
[R] for reload.

There is an option called Variables in the main menu. In this option you can edit the gameplay and the weapons. The weapons available are: melee attack, pistol, shot gun, sword, SMG, flamer, plasma, rifles, grenades, and rocket launchers.

I personally enjoyed playing this Free FPS game both online mode and offline mode. You will definitely enjoy this very fast paced game.

PowerPoint Express is a free tool which you can use in order to create simple Power Point presentations, it’s very useful for all those who either do not have Power point installed on their computers or who is lazy to open up Power Point when they do not want to create something overlay complicated, just a plain simple presentation.

Design of the interface is very similar to that of actual Power Point, more precisely the entire Office suite, but obviously there’s a lot less tools available for presentation edtitng. How to create simple Power Point presentations quickly with PowerPoint Express

When you first open up PowerPoint Express there won’t be any slides, so the first thing that you need to do would be to click on Main Menu and select Insert New Slide. After that you should see slide in the left sidebar. Let’s start with something simple, like adding text.

The entire right sidebar is for text editing. In the input field at the top enter the text that you would like to see in the slide, and after that, switch over to the bottom where the red dot can be seen. Use this dot to position the text inside the slide. If it’s a title, place it somewhere at the top, if it’s slide text, then at the middle, below the title. Click Save text in the bottom right corner and after which you will be able to add new text.

Use the upper toolbar to add images or import text from other documents. If you want to create a screenshot like we have on the image above and import it as a new slide, you’re gonna have to select Main Menu and then Capture. Visit the Main Menu also when you’re ready to save the presentation, but before that, click SlideShow to see it in action.
